Traditional Holiday Decor vs My Obsession with a Black Christmas

I’m often asked, where did my love for design come from? I haven’t a clue, but I can tell you where it didn’t come from, my late mother. Growing up, mom didn’t paint the walls or have fancy table settings. She was just fine with her white walls and emerald green carpet, that also matched her emerald green car 😂.

The holidays were just as basic, she would stick to the traditional colors like red, green, and multi color lights 🤦🏽‍♀️  Oh how I wanted to deck the halls, but mom kept this nice and simple.

Boy how have things changed. I think she would flip with a black Christmas tree. Which is my current obsession with accent black accent Christmas ornaments. I love how elegant and elevated they look.
