LAWI in Tulum, Mexico!

This past week I had to opportunity of a lifetime! My client @brokerboles is the broker of Amira District in Tulum, Mexico. Amira District will be the first ocean side property with a “to-die-for” view. So many people asked, “Okay! Why are you there?!” Well, my client knows aesthetics are just as important as the location. He understands the value I, a designer, brings to the table. People are purchasing for experiences. From the time they hit the door they want to feel like they’ve entered a space never before seen that still encompasses the feeling of home. I mean isn’t that why we use AirBnB over traditional hotel stays? Being able to stay at a place that offers purposeful design, complimentary decor, and at-home sentiments covers all bases and ensures a memorable space/experience.
It’s refreshing that I’m able to break the stigma of the relationship between broker/realtor and designer. The stigma between these two creatives is that a designer is too expensive. However, what isn’t considered is the value we bring or the different services we offer. We can work together in the interest of the client and their investment. We, LAWI, can make your investment stand out and not break the bank in the process. I mean let’s be honest, with a good investment return you will repeat this process and of course bring LAWI along for the ride.

One thing I didn’t care for at our stay at a similar property was that all the spaces looked the same. From the one bedroom to the penthouse level—same color palette, same sofa, and hard bed. For me personally, no matter what my location is, I want a good nights rest. I say all this to say, before you count yourself out reach out to a designer for your next investment property. We can work to devise a plan and set perimeters that makes the space come alive and coincides with budget needs. Team work makes the dream work.
