A Weekend to Remember & Exciting New Beginnings

Lauren Ashley, Black Woman Interior Designer based out of Houston, TX at Kips Bay Showhouse in Dallas, TX

This weekend, I took some well-deserved time off and spent it with my dad at the Kips Bay Showhouse in Dallas, Texas – and let me tell you, it was everything I needed to kick off my busiest time of the year! The showhouse was full of incredible spaces, each one more inspiring than the last, but the one I’d been eagerly anticipating completely exceeded my expectations. The highlight? Ashley from Muse Norie Interiors walked us through her stunning design, "Let There Be Light," and the meaning behind every detail. It was absolutely perfect, and even my dad was impressed by how every choice had a purpose. I couldn’t be prouder to see such thoughtful design in action and to share this moment with my dad.

But that’s not all—what else have I been up to, you ask?

I had the privilege of participating in ASID’s Student Career Day, an event designed for college students in the surrounding areas. To be honest, it was more than I expected on so many levels. From the powerful speakers and stunning showrooms to the incredible students I had the chance to connect with, the entire day left me feeling on cloud nine. The energy was contagious, and I walked away with a deep sense of fulfillment. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and now I’m left wondering—how can I do more of this? I can’t wait to figure it out.

Until then, I’m diving headfirst into the whirlwind of this busy season, feeling more energized and inspired than ever! Stay tuned for more exciting updates to come.

Before I sign off, I wanted to share something special: our talented event photographer, Amber Charles, is offering holiday photo sessions!
